Donovan scored in the 82rd minute for L.A. (0-1-4), which has just one loss but has tied its other four matches. Los Angeles and the defending MLS Cup champion Columbus Crew are the only MLS teams without wins.

Colin Clark scored his first goal of the season for Colorado (2-2-2), which is unbeaten in two homes matches with a win and a draw.

After a scoreless first half, Omar Cummings and Mehdi Ballouchy set up Clark in the penalty area for the opening goal. Ballouchy passed to Cummings, and he got the ball into the box to Clark. Clark held the ball, made a quick move to his left and placed a shot into the upper-left corner.

Los Angeles' chances of erasing the deficit were nearly ended later in the half when Todd Dunivant was shown a red card for an apparent foul on Cummings. But after referee Alex Prus discussed the call with one of his assistant's, it was overturned.

L.A. then scored the equalizer in the final 10 minutes. Edson Buddle took the initial shot on the play, and the rebound bounced to Chris Klein. He delivered the ball back into the middle, and Donovan finished with a first-time effort in the six-yard box.

Donovan Ricketts made four saves for the Galaxy. Preston Burpo had three saves for Colorado.

Both clubs return to action May 2 with L.A. hosting Red Bull New York and the Rapids hosting Real Salt Lake.
